WIM station provides precious and comprehensive data that are especially useful for DOTs daily business needs. WIM station includes complicated hardware and software to work with multiple sensors and its calibration is important to ensure the data quality. Traditionally, WIM stations are calibrated based on a certain schedule and their performance is not well monitored. We provide a WIM Health Monitoring solution to track key parameters of WIM station operation and analyze their data to detect any off-calibration issues automatically. Depending on the severity, the system can either provide temporary calibration for minor issues or inform the DOTs about the major ones. Using the inductive loop signature data and WIM data, we track common trucks among WIM stations and their data are used for temporary calibration through a statistical analysis approach.
