Microsimulation Plugins

As the major microsimulation plugin provider, CLR Analytics has developed a number of plugins under Paramics, TransModeler and Vissim. These plugins have been used by top simulation modeling consulting firms and some universities for various practical projects since Year 2008.

Paramics Plugins

The following plugins are available. Each plugin comes with example network and a user manual.

Transmodeler Data Aggregation and Ramp Metering Plugin

The plugin utilizes the API functions from TransModeler to perform the following functions:

Detector data aggregation
Ramp metering control based on the following logic:
- SATMS (demand capacity logic), deployed in Caltrans District 7 (Los Angeles County) and 12 (Orange County)
- SDRMS (volume control and occupancy control logic), deployed in Caltrans District 11 (San Diego), District 8 (Riverside and San Bernadino), District 3 (Sacramento)
- ALINEA
- Coordinated ALINEA

Vissim Detector Data Aggregation and Ramp Metering Plugin

The plugin utilizes the API functions from VISSIM to perform the following functions:

Detector data aggregation at a predefined time interval (basically, you can compare simulated detector data against observed detector data)
Ramp metering control based on the following logic:
- SATMS (demand capacity logic), deployed in District 7 (Los Angeles County) and District 12 (Orange County) of Caltrans
- SDRMS (volume control and occupancy control logic), deployed in Caltrans District 11 (San Diego), District 8 (Riverside and San Bernadino), District 3 (Sacramento)
- ALINEA, adaptive ramp metering algorithm proposed by Prof. Markos Papageorgiou
